APPOINTMENT PREP GUIDE
To help make your tattoo experience as smooth and comfortable as possible, here are a few things to keep in mind before your appointment:
Week of the Appointment
-
Moisturize the area if possible. In the days leading up to the appointment, moisturize the spot you're getting tattooed. But avoid applying lotion the day of your appointment.
-
No sunburns please! Avoid heavy sun exposure or tanning beds leading up to your appointment.
-
Avoid alcohol or blood thinning meds 24 hours prior — They can thin your blood and impact healing.
-
Hydrate well — Drink plenty of water to keep your skin happy and healthy.
-
Get a good night’s sleep — Rested bodies handle tattooing better!
Day of the Appointment
-
Please arrive on time and sober. I do have a 15 minute grace period. Running behind? No worries! Just communicate with me via email so I can confirm if I can accommodate. If you do arrive after the grace period and we haven't had an understanding through communication, I will assume no call/no show and that policy will be applied.
-
Eat a full meal before your appointment. This helps stabilize blood sugar and avoid feeling faint or dizzy.
-
Dress comfortably and wear clothing that allows easy access to the area being tattooed (ex. a button down shirt to be worn backwards for a spine tattoo, shorts for a leg tattoo, etc.) Even better to wear something you don't mind getting ink on.
-
Bring water, a snack, headphones, or something to pass the time — especially for longer sessions. We also have water and snacks in the studio!
-
Don't forget a valid ID! This means a physical photo ID (driver's license, passport, etc.). I do not accept paper ID or expired ID.
A Few Other Notes
-
Let me know within 48hrs of your appointment if you’re feeling unwell, on antibiotics, or need to reschedule. Lack of notice may result in loss of deposit.
-
If you're nervous or have specific access needs, feel free to reach out. I want you to feel safe, seen, and comfortable in my space.
-
You’re welcome to bring one friend for moral support, just let me know in advance.
